Malcolm Flowers Managing Director
Malcolm, the Insurance expert with 55 years of experience and the face behind the name. His life took a turn toward the insurance industry after injuring his eye working in a joinery factory. Fast forward over half a century later, Malcolm has carefully crafted a team of people devoted to insurance and client satisfaction.
Malcolm’s love for work is evident, but when he’s not at work, he is committed to being involved in the community. His hobbies include telling a good yarn, navigating Lake Taupō, tending his lawns, and testing out his golf swing.... Read more ↓
Nic Flowers General Manager
Nic is our General Manager with 35 years of experience in the insurance world, 26 of which have been dedicated to Malcolm Flowers Insurances. When it comes to insurance, Nic is a specialist in commercial sectors such as transport, forestry, civil contracting, and property. Nic understands the importance of building long-term relationships with clients and putting their interests first.
Beyond the office, Nic is a proud father of five. You’ll often find him spending time with his family, conquering KM’s on a cycle trainer or mountain bike, and carving it up on the pickle ball court (it’s not just for oldies!). You may also find Nic enjoying fishing and scuba diving.... Read more ↓
John Flowers Operations & Claims Manager
John is MFI’s operations and claims manager. With over 20 years working in the Insurance industry, John strives to make his clients’ experiences as streamlined as possible. Beyond his role, John is a qualified electrician and refrigeration engineer.
Outside the office, you’ll find John sea fishing, cooking, reading, or helping out with the odd building job. John recently purchased an E-bike, so you may see him exploring the area on two wheels.... Read more ↓
Geoff Smith Broker Sales Manager
Geoff has an impressive 55 years of knowledge, experience, and expertise in the Fire and General Insurance Industry. For 34 years at Malcolm Flowers Insurances, Geoff has ensured clients receive optimal insurance solutions tailored to their needs.

Andrea Millar Chartered Accountant
Andrea is our financial expert who has been with MFI for 6 years and has 35 years of experience in tax accounting roles, including 13 as a Chartered Accountant. Andrea oversees all accounting procedures. This ranges from daily tasks to annual financial statements, while managing HR and the MFI premium funding service.
Beyond work, Andrea has an adventurous spirit. Andrea has swum across the lake, completed biking trips in Vietnam and Cambodia, and embraced new challenges like mountain biking with an e-bike (game-changer!). Steve Denton Account Manager
Steve is a Fire & General Insurance Broker, leveraging a wealth of insurance knowledge acquired throughout his career. Steve has spent a decade as an Insurance Underwriter and more than 12 years as an insurance Broker.
With a unique career detour Steve spent three years as a ‘Race Technician’ at Turoa Ski Resort, he specialised in setting out ski race courses and running timed events. Richard is a Fire & General Insurance Broker and Claims consultant with over 15 years of expertise in NZ and the UK. Richard is always ready to put his client’s needs first, tackling claims on behalf of our clients without fear.
Beyond insurance, Richard contributes to the local disc golf community as part of the organising committee. He’s not just running tournaments; he’s also instrumental in maintaining one of the best disc golf courses in NZ at Spa Park. Pam Johnson Administration
Pam is MFI’s administrative expert and has an impressive 46 years of experience spanning clerical and administrative roles across both the public and private sectors in New Zealand and Australia. Despite initially moving to Taupō with retirement in mind, Pam decided to delay this plan, get back into full-time employment, and continue to share her knowledge with our team.
